The inaugural edition of the WPL promises to be as exciting as ever as it’s not just players like Alyssa Healy and Smriti Mandhana that fans will be pinning their hopes on, but also a new generation of cricketers with some notable talent

Women cricketers will be looking to captivate the world as they launch their campaign next year Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 on March 4, Thursday. The opening edition promises to be as exciting as ever, because it’s not just Alyssa Healy and Smriti Mandhana on which fans will shed their weight of expectation, but a fresh crop of cricketers with some notable talent.

Players will look forward to a fleeting campaign at the WPL as they take on their global peers in the cash-rich tournament. A total of five teams are in contention with a total of 22 games scheduled. Meanwhile, “Ye to bas shuruaat hai” has been released as the official anthem for WPL 2023.

WPL 2023: Full Schedule

Mumbai Indians And Gujarat giants will meet in a blockbuster opening WPL game on March 4th, while the finals will be played on March 26th. ThiefRabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will each host 11 matches. The opening game and playoff on March 24 will be played at DY Patil Stadium, while the final will be played at Brabourne Stadium.

Viacom18 acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the inaugural edition of the WPL on television and online for a period of five years starting in 2023. Meanwhile, Jio Cinema and Sports18 will be streaming the tournament live.
