The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) finally gets underway on Saturday (March 4).

The first game of the T20 league will be between the Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians in the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy held in Mumbai. Game starts at 7:30pm IST. All WPL 2023 matches will be played in Mumbai, with Brabourne Stadium and Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy are the two venues.

Along with Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz are the three other franchises set to feature in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League.

A total of 22 games will be played in WPL 2023, with each franchise playing the other twice in the league phase. After the league games, on March 24th, the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy held an eliminator followed by the final on March 26 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Viacom 18 has acquired the media rights to WPL for a period of five years. The company is paying £951m over the period 2023-2027. Therefore, all matches of the WPL 2023 will be broadcast live on the Sports18 network.

Live streaming of Women’s Premier League 2023 matches will also be available on Jio Cinema app. Afternoon games of the tournament start at 3:30pm IST and evening games start at 7:30pm IST.
