The Panthers are scheduled to play five games at the UNI Dome this fall. Season ticket sales begin in April.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI will open its 125th season of football away from home before playing the first of five games at the UNI Dome. Three of the Panthers’ home games are scheduled to kickoff at 4:00 p.m. CT, with two games starting at 1:00 p.m. CT.
The Panthers take on Iowa State on September 2 at Jack Trice Stadium to open the 2023 campaign before hosting the Weber State 2022 FCS playoff qualifier on September 9 in their home opener. UNI is 37-10 (.787) in home opens. since the Panthers played their first home game in the UNI Dome in 1976.
After rounding out the non-conference list in Idaho State, the Panthers will open the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Sept. 30 at home to Youngstown State for the first of two scheduled opener games at 1 p.m. CT. UNI will then head out to open October, visiting Indiana state and defending champion South Dakota state on October 14.
The Panthers welcome North Dakota to their annual homecoming game for the first time since 2006 on October 21, and for the first time as an MVFC opponent. UNI took on the Fighting Hawks last September in Grand Forks in UND’s inaugural season as a member of the league.
After visiting Illinois state on Oct. 28, the Panthers will play two of their last three games at home, beginning Nov. 4 against western Illinois. UNI will play their final away game on November 11 in Missouri State before wrapping up the regular season for Seniors’ Day on November 18 against long-time favorites FCS in North Dakota State.
Kick-off times for street games and ticket information will be announced at a later date.

2023 will mark the tenth time the Panthers open the season on the road in the state of Iowa Mark Farley era (since 2001).
The UNI calendar features three teams from last year’s FCS playoff field, including Weber State and both national championship game contenders (South Dakota State and North Dakota State).
UNI’s bye week is scheduled for September 23rd.
As part of the MVFC scheduling formula, the Panthers will not play MVFC freshman Murray State, South Dakota or Southern Illinois this season.
The Panthers have been 228-63-1 (.780) all-times in the UNI Dome since the building opened in 1976.
