Cape Town ePrix 2023 is an upcoming Formula E racing event. The first edition is number 5th Event of the current season 2022-23 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The event also marks the first iteration of Formula E racing in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
As the name suggests, the upcoming ePrix racing event will take place at the Cape Town Street Circuit. Although originally planned as part of the 2022 calendar, the event has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following the recent cancellation of the Seoul ePrix, the event schedule has been reintroduced this year. Formula racing in Cape Town will feature Formula E Gen3 cars like the recent Hyderabad ePrix event. However, changing vehicles is not permitted during race times.
