The auction included some of the best players from India and beyond. One of the five franchises participating in the auction was Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The franchise is owned by a member of the Diageo group, United Spirits Limited. The RCB franchise is chaired by Prathmesh Mishra, Chief Commissioner Officer of the Diageo Group.

Some of the most famous cricketers have been signed by the team, including Smriti Mandhama, Elysse Perry, Sophie Divine and Richa Ghosh. To put together a squad of 18 players, they invested a total of 11.90 crores. At 3.40 crores, Smriti was the player they bought for the highest price. She will also lead the group.

They also have a respected coaching staff as Director of Cricket at RCB, Mike Hesson. Sania Mirza, a former Indian tennis champion, will serve as her mentor. Ben Sawyer, a former Australian pacemaker, was also hired as the team’s head coach. Before the start of the first season, the team hired former Indian cricketer Malolan Rangarajan as assistant coach and chief scouting.

The competition will take place from March 4th to 26th. Matches will be played at DY Patil and Brabourne stadiums, with the final taking place at Brabourne Stadium on March 26. On March 21st, UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals will play at Brabourne Stadium to conclude the league phase. On March 24th, The Eliminator will take place at DY Patil Stadium. Finally, Brabourne Stadium will host the WPL 2023 championship game on March 26th. 11 games will be played at both locations.
