City’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday meant the Gunners rode an eight-point lead at the top of the table after easily beating Spurs the following day.
Pressure is also mounting on Tottenham as they fall five points adrift of Champions League places after the derby defeat in north London at mid-season.
A repeat of last season’s 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium would put Spurs back in the top four, but the bad news for Antonio Conte’s side is that City have not lost in the Premier League since December 2018 had to accept.
The visiting defenders will also worry that Erling Haaland has failed to score in his last two league games and will no doubt be desperate to get his name back on the scoresheet.
