FOOTBALL NATIONAL LEAGUE 2023 IMPORTANT DATES

February 28-March 6: NFL Scouting Combine, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.

March 7: Before 4:00 p.m. New York time, deadline for clubs to nominate franchise or transition players.

13-15 March: During the period commencing on March 13 at 12:00 p.m. New York time and ending on March 15 at 3:59:59 p.m. New York time, clubs are permitted to contact and negotiate with the certified agents of Players who become unrestricted free agents after their 2022 player contracts expire at 4:00 p.m. ET on March 15.

During the above two-day negotiation period, a prospective UFA who is not represented by an NFLPA-certified contract advisor is permitted to negotiate directly with a new club’s front office representatives (excluding the head coach and other members of the club’s coaching staff) regarding the contract to communicate negotiations.

No potential unrestricted free agent may sign a contract with a new club until March 15 at 4:00 p.m. New York time.

April 3: Clubs that hired a new head coach after the end of the 2022 regular season can begin off-season training programmes.

April 17: Clubs with returning head coaches may begin off-season training programs.

19 April: Deadline for clubs to time, test, visit, interview or conduct a physical examination of a draft-eligible player at their club facility.

April 21: Deadline for limited free agents to sign offer sheets.

April 26: Deadline for previous clubs to exercise restricted free agent first refusal.

26 April: Deadline for clubs to time, test, visit, interview (including video and phone calls) or conduct a physical examination with a draft-eligible player anywhere.

27-29 April: NFL Draft, Kansas City, Missouri.

2 May: Deadline for clubs to exercise the fifth-year option for players selected in the first round of the 2020 draft.

May 5-8 or May 12-15: Clubs can choose to hold their only three-day post-draft rookie minicamp Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday on either of the two post-draft weekends.

May 15: Rookie Football Development Programs begin.

18-21 May: NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Los Angeles, California.

22-24 May: Spring League Meeting, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

June 1: Deadline for the previous club to send “June 1 Tenders” to its unsigned restricted free agents who have received a qualifying offer of first refusal, only for that player to comply with the CBA’s “June 15 Tenders” rule . June” subject.
