The US women’s national soccer team will take on New Zealand in 2023, with two games on the other side of the world in late January, just three days apart.
These games prepare the USWNT for the SheBelieves Cup in mid-February when Canada, Japan and Brazil visit the United States for the annual women’s soccer tournament.
2023 sees a new television home for US Soccer, with English language broadcast rights for both men’s and women’s games now held by Warner Brothers Disney through Turner Sports. That means some games will be televised via TNT and TBS, while others will be streamed on HBO Max.
US Soccer’s Spanish-language home will be NBC Universal’s platforms: Telemundo, Universo and streaming platform Peacock.

The US women’s first game of 2023 is a friendly against New Zealand on Tuesday at the Sky Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand.
One of the new homes of the US national team, HBO Max signs an eight-year rights deal with US Soccer through 2030. While some games will appear on TNT or TBS, this first USWNT game of the year will be shown exclusively in English on Turner’s HBO Max streaming service.
US Soccer also announced in mid-January a deal for Spanish-language broadcasts with NBC’s Telemundo, which will see games available in Spanish. This game will be shown on Universo which can be streamed on fuboTV as well as on the NBC streaming platform Peacock.

How much does HBO Max cost?
HBO Max streaming plans come with either a monthly or yearly commitment and either regular or ad-free plans.
The monthly version can be backed up for either $9.99 per month for the regular version or $15.99 per month for ad-free streaming.
Meanwhile, the annual cost of the regular version is $99.99 for 12 months, giving those who want to commit for a full year a discount of about $20 off what they pay for a full year at the monthly price would. There’s also a discount on the yearly version of the ad-free service, which costs $149.99 for 12 months, a discount of about $42 for what you would pay in 12 installments of the monthly version.

Who are the HBO Max hosts and broadcasters?
Turner Sports has released its team of broadcast talent for January’s USWNT games.
Play-by-play broadcaster Luke Wileman will helm the New Zealand games alongside Julie Foudy, with former US players DaMarcus Beasley, Shannon Boxx and Kyle Martino serving as studio analysts.
Wileman began his broadcasting career at the BBC calling Leeds United games and has spent the last 12 years doing play-by-play for Canada games on TSN, including announcing games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar . Outside of the World Cup, Wileman has scheduled international matches at the Euro and Olympic Games, as well as club matches in the Premier League, Champions League and Major League Soccer.
Foudy is a USWNT veteran who earned 271 caps in an incredible 17-year career. She was a budding start in broadcasting, primarily with ESPN at US national team games at both the men’s and women’s levels.

How much is Peacock?
The Spanish language streams of all US women’s matches will be available on Peacock with two different packages for fans to choose from: monthly or yearly. Each package includes coverage of the English Premier League throughout the season.
The annual price of $49.99 is a slight discount that works out to about $4.17 per month from the $4.99 monthly plan.
There’s another option that offers the same streaming content with fewer ads: $9.99 monthly or $99.99 for a full year.

Telemundo and Universo hosts and broadcasters
Coverage for Telemundo, Universo and Peacock will be helmed by longtime Telemundo football voice Andres Cantor, who will be joined by former Mexico international Manuel Sol as color analyst.
Studio coverage will be helmed by Miguel Gurwitz, Ana Jurka and Premier League host Carlota Vizmanos.
The Telemundo Deportes program also recently provided extensive coverage of the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2022, with the Women’s World Cup 2023 being broadcast by the network in summer 2023.
