Big plans for the weekend? Cancel them. The 2023 Oscars are here, bringing together the biggest and best cinema stars of the past 12 months. Brendan Fraser. Angela Bassett. Steven Spielberg. Austin Butler. Jessica Chastain. Paul Meskal. Ana de Armas. Colin Farrell. Tom cruise. Ah, the level of talent in one place – including the unpredictable drama – is what makes the Oscars such a special event.
On the other hand, the 95th Academy Awards will hope for less drama after the now infamous one Will Smith hits in 2022. That year, Jimmy Kimmel will take the stage to host the prestigious ceremony in Los Angeles, California. There will also be a pre-show red carpet, as well as a countdown to the Oscars show starring Vanessa Hudgens, Lilly Singh and Ashley Graham. Not to mention the numerous performances that Rihanna will perform in right after her performance Super Bowl 2023.

Who is hosting the 2023 Oscars?
Late-night talk show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2023 Oscars. After 2017 and 2018, this is Kimmel’s third time hosting the event. He still has a long way to go to break Bob Hope’s hosting record – a whopping 19 times. Of course, many will be curious to see how the moderator role will be handled following the altercation between last year’s host Chris Rock and Will Smithwhere the former slapped the latter on stage.
“To be invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honor or a trap,” Kimmel said in a statement. “In any case, I’m grateful to the Academy for asking me out so quickly after all the good guys said no.”
A teaser video starring Kimmel for inspiration Top Gun: Maverick was shared on social media, which you can see below.
