Kentucky’s men’s basketball team has just three regular season games left. First things first: a date with Auburn on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats (19-9, 10-5 SEC), winners of three straight wins, are now alone in third place in the conference, behind only Alabama (14-1) and Texas A&M (13-2). The Tigers (19-9, 9-6) have lost four of their last six but they clinch a 78-74 win over Ole Miss Wednesday.
Britain remain hopeful that injured senior guards CJ Fredrick and Sahvir Wheeler will return soon. Fredrick has missed the last four games after injuring his ribs in a home loss to Arkansas on Feb. 7. Wheeler was out even longer, sitting out the final five contests after injuring his ankle.

What is the Kentucky Wildcats vs. Auburn Tigers men’s basketball series history?
The Wildcats have a significant lead in their streak with the Tigers and hold a 96-23 advantage going into Saturday’s game. Lately, however, the Tigers have held the upper hand, winning four of their last six meetings. Auburn’s first win of the run: a 77-71 overtime thriller in an elite eight tilt in Kansas City, Missouri in 2019 that sent the program to its first-ever Final Four.
John Calipari is 13-6 against Auburn since he became Kentucky’s manager prior to the 2009-10 season. But the series has been almost even since Bruce Pearl took over the Tigers’ program in 2014. Since then, the Wildcats are only 7-6 against the Tigers.
The good news for British Saturday? Auburn has won just twice in 52 trips to Lexington, most recently in 1988 when it stunned leaders Kentucky 53-52. (The Tigers’ other win at Lexington was in 1983.)
