Lestienne fizzles out after the Auckland Open semifinals
After losing his opener at the Adelaide International, Lestienne’s first tournament of the season, he reached the semi-finals at the Auckland Open the following week.
He was forced to withdraw from that match due to fitness concerns and from that point on Lestienne’s form was not quite up to par.
At the Australian Open, he made it to the second round, but in the three tournaments he has competed in since then, opening-round losses have followed. Nikoloz Basilashvili fielded him in Montpellier, Holger Rune defeated him in Rotterdam and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina defeated Lestienne in Doha.
