If you’re a fan of Disney or card games, you probably already know about the upcoming ones Disney Lorcana game. Ravensburger makes it; Today they officially announced when it’s coming. You will publish the first segment titled Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter, in August 2023. Initially only in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Germany and France. The official release date for local game stores is August 18th. From September 1st you can pick up the game in retail stores. In addition, if you attend Gen Con 2023, you can get some products from there.
A co-designer for the Disney Lorcana Game, Ryan Miller revealed some additional information about the title’s release. Here’s what he said:
“Players and the community are absolutely the most important components of a TCG. We partner with hobby and gaming stores to host our organized gaming programs as they bring people together to learn, play and trade and help welcome new players to the game.
We also want to make sure hobby shops know how much we appreciate them. As someone who has worked in a retail hobby store and has hosted hundreds of tournaments, I know first hand the amount of effort, time and care that goes into running events in the store.”
Obviously, Disney and Ravensburger wanted to let hobby stores know how much the brands value them by giving them a chance to sell the games first.

Currently we know a few details about the Disney Lorcana games start, including what we get first. You can purchase over 2000 game cards at launch, including Starter Packs, Booster Cards, Gift Sets, and Collector’s Sets.
There are initially three starter packs to choose from, but we can expect more in the coming months and years. Each pack contains 60 specific cards that make up two of the six “Inks”. These pairs are steel and sapphire, amber and amethyst, or emerald and ruby. If you have played other card games, e.g Magic the Gathering, These inks are like the different colors in this game. Additionally, there are 12 completely random maps in the starter packs. One of them will be a premium card, and two other cards will have a certain rarity: legendary, super rare, or rare.
There is also a collectible set called The Illumineer’s Trove. When Disney releases this set, it will be the largest available. It will contain eight booster sets, two deck boxes, a special storage box, and game instructions. If you prefer to get those Disney Lorcana game Gift set, this contains two regular foil cards, two large foil cards, tokens and four booster sets. You also get Hades and Mulan in the pack.

Ryan Miller also spoke about the creative process behind it Disney Lorcana Game:
“We’ve put together a solid line of fun and exciting products for Disney Lorcana’s first set. With a variety of products, players can get involved at any level they want – whether it’s grabbing a starter set to get a taste of each ink color’s gameplay and style, or grabbing an Illumineer’s Trove, and so on experience as much of the game as possible. We also want to show that we mean business and that we will stay here.”
Currently we know that you can play the game in English, German and French at launch. Ravensburger also announced that they intend to release four new sets each year. As if that wasn’t enough, each set would be part of an unknown, ongoing storyline. We’re not sure what that will entail, but it’s going to be exciting! Therefore, we can expect at least three more sentences in between The first chapter and December 2023.
We also know some of the characters in the Disney Lorcana game. At the moment, Ravensburger only focuses on Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella and Robin Hood. It’s possible that later we’ll get cards from other Disney franchises like Marvel Card Games, Star Wars and Pixar. However, Ravensburger has not yet confirmed this.
