Lucid Games supports Rare with his unique talents and style in ongoing updates and developments for Sea of Thieves. The studio is also hiring.

An interesting collaboration arose this week as two very stylistic developers come together to discuss the future of a very popular game. Lucid Games, the developers of the PlayStation 5 launch title Destruction AllStars, has joined Rare Games to help further develop and update Sea of Thieves and is now reportedly working with the lead developer on content. Lucid Games also announced that it would be hiring developers to help in this regard.

Lucid Games announced its collaboration with Rare via Lucid’s official Twitter on January 18, 2023.

“We’re excited to announce that we’re collaborating with Rare on Sea of Thieves,” Lucid Games said in the post. “It was incredible to join her in her exciting pirate adventure and we can’t wait to see where this legendary journey takes us!”

It seems that this partnership has been in the game for a while by the wording, but it appears that Lucid Rare is helping to keep Sea of Thieves updated and new content created. The studio also shared that it is hiring key positions to help with the collaboration.

Rare has been successfully chugging along with Sea of Thieves on the high seas for a number of years. What started out as a shaky and somewhat boring experience has evolved into a robust cooperative pirate sandbox adventure game with plenty to do. Sea of Thieves even managed to get Disney on board to make Pirates of the Caribbean content for the game.

Meanwhile, Lucid Games has worked on a number of projects over the years, including support for Goat Simulator and porting Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories to mobile devices. It was last known for releasing the PS5 launch title Destruction AllStars, but is also said to have been working on a Twisted Metal reboot for a while. Having not really been picked up by PlayStation Studios, Lucid appears to be making its mark on the Xbox side with Rare. As the two continue to collaborate on Sea of Thieves, stay tuned for what’s next for the game right here at Shacknews.
